凤凰木 （flame of the forest）, 落叶喬木。屬苏木科, 原产地于马达加斯加。凤凰木 （flame of the forest凤木高可达２０公尺以上，樹冠半圓形。二回羽狀复叶，小叶８－１０对，長托橢圆形。夏季５－７月间开花，总狀或圆椎花序，花瓣鲜紅，帶有黃晕，盛开時滿树紅艳。日照需充足，性喜高溫。果实成熟后会自动爆裂（splitting）。
